Facing History Students Tour D.C.

The four-day Facing History trip to Washington DC - from March 14-18, 2018 - was a huge
success, enabling students to dive deeply into recent history. 124 Facing History students traveled to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the White House, the Newseum, news organizations from NPR to Meet the Press to Bloomberg News, as well as assorted non-governmental organizations from Emily’s List to Martha’s Table to Giffords, an organization founded by Gabby Giffords to support efforts at gun control.

The trip would not have been possible were it not for the willingness of parent volunteers
to chaperone - and what a terrific group! Many thanks to Kari Charles, Steven Goldblatt, Erin Haight, Cathy Pappas, Thien Simpson, and Ahmet Uluer for being such responsible chaperones and a pleasure to travel with, as were treasured veteran chaperones and teachers Ms. Margaret Greaves and Mr. Charles Aversa. It was a great privilege to have you experience these opportunities with your students.
