Student Artists and Musicians Represent Well at Regional, State, and National Competitions

Two BLS Student Artists Named 2019 National Medalists

Medalists for the 2019 National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have been announced!

Emily Liu, Class I, received a silver medal in Sculpture for her work "Claustrophobia". Clara Reed, Class II, received a gold medal in Drawing & Illustration for her work "After 7 p.m." Clara was invited to New York City June 5–7, 2019, to participate in several events, including a ceremony at Carnegie Hall. We could not be prouder. Congratulations to both students!

Big Band Earns a Gold at MAJE State Finals

The BLS Big Band made it to the 2019 MAJE State Finals at Norwood High School  and earned a gold medal! Outstanding Musicianship awards went to Hazel Royer, bass, Tony Wang, alto saxophone, and Ross Mikulskis, trumpet. Congratulations to the band, Mr. Pitts, Mr. Fallon, and Mr. Yee.

The Big Band performed in the MAJE Gold Medal Showcase on May 19, at the Hatch Shell!

Show Choir and 2019 MICCA Festivals Results

Congratulations to all the musicians and conductors on their successes at the Show Choir Festival and the MICCA Festivals. The Concert String Orchestra was awarded Gold, and Show Choir, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Choir all earned Silver!
