This course seeks to give students a knowledge and appreciation of the topics covered in PreCalculus through an increase in rigor. This course also prepares students for the rigorous mathematics that will be encountered in AP Calculus AB/BC. Concepts are developed from a theoretical approach rather than an approach that only facilitates implementation. Students are expected to partake in local, regional and national competitions as part of the curriculum. The AP Calculus BC curriculum will begin in January for this section. A graphing calculator is required for the course. (TI – 83, 83+, 84, 84+ or 89 are acceptable).
