BLSA Parents' Committee

Welcome to the BLS family!
In close partnership with our network of dedicated parent ambassadors, the Boston Latin School Association fosters an engaged, supportive community of Latin School parents around the city.

Through our events and volunteer committee, parents have the opportunity to forge meaningful connections with Latin School’s diverse community of families as well as support the programs and opportunities Latin School students depend on to excel.

Parents are encouraged to make a direct impact on the student experience by making thoughtful contributions to the BLSA Annual Fund. Within the past years, almost 25% of families joined together to support such areas as expanding academic program offerings, technology updates in the library and the classroom and the artistic and athletic endeavors of our students.

The BLSA Parents’ Committee
Serving as a volunteer for the BLSA Parents’ Committee is a wonderful way to participate in your child’s education at Latin School and to meet and network with other Latin School parents. Led by co-chairs Jen DiManno P’23 and Jane Connolly P’21, ’22, the BLSA Parents’ Committee is an enthusiastic cohort of families committed to building a more supportive parent community.

The BLSA Parents’ Committee is instrumental in creating a sense of community among Latin School parents. The success of our parent fundraising and engagement efforts depends largely on peer-to-peer outreach. As donors, and representatives of the Boston Latin School Association, volunteers play an essential role in encouraging parents to give and get involved. Sharing personal motivations for supporting BLS will inspire others to follow these examples of leadership.

We count on all members of the BLSA Parents’ Committee to:
  • identify and recruit new members of the Parents' Committee
  • educate current BLS parents about the Boston Latin School Association and the resources the BLSA provides to the school;
  • encourage philanthropy from BLS parents to the BLSA to ensure that those resources continue to be available to the school.
If you are interested in volunteering with the BLSA Parents’ Committee, please email Marybeth Oskowski.
